Project Description:

The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) is an international, non-profit organization that supports the building of democratic societies and the strengthening of transitional democracies. Founded in 1987 as a nonpartisan organization, IFES has implemented and developed comprehensive, collaborative democracy solutions in more than 120 countries.

Job Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the IFES Nepal Country Director, the Voter Education consultant will support IFES’ voter and civic education efforts in Nepal, including:
• Review past and current civic and voter education activities in Nepal
• Provide expertise and comparative international examples on voter education strategies for addressing the barriers to participation of marginalized groups with a focus on gender-related challenges
• Identify innovative methods and mediums that can be used to effectively disseminate voter education messages in Nepal
• Provide technical assistance and international best practice on strategies to build public awareness, message development, and civic/voter education activities.


• A bachelor’s degree in communications, political science, public relations, or related field; advanced degree preferred
• 5-7 years of experience in civic/voter education and communications strategies, and a strong understanding of the electoral process
• Experience working in remote communities
• A high level of self-motivation and ability to work autonomously within a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
• Regional experience is preferred
